Poverty

In Indonesia, the number of poverty seems to never decrease even though the government has been trying to increase the level of life of the poor people. One reason why the government fails to clean up the poverty in Indonesia is that the government is not doing well in handling the two major causes of poverty. The two major causes that lead to poverty are: unemployment, and lack of education.
The number of unemployed people in Indonesia has been increasing since the monetary crisis in 1998. The crisis caused the contract termination of workers in the companies and industries. In other words, the crisis increased the number of unemployed people in Indonesia. From that time, the unemployment has been one of the two major causes of poverty in Indonesia.
The second cause that results in poverty is the lack of education. In Indonesia, good education can be obtained only in the big cities, such as: Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Yogyakarta. In remote places like villages, the people cannot obtain good education. Therefore, the people in village are difficult to maintain the level of their lives.
Those two major causes bring the biggest effect which shows poverty in Indonesia.
The biggest effect of poverty in Indonesia is the lack of food and clothing. People who lived in village and then moved to big cities usually suffer inadequate food and clothing. The villagers moved to big cities since they want to find a job and start a new hopeful life. However, because they do not get good education, and therefore could not compete with other people to find a job, they are unemployed.
how to solve? no know.

come to think....
that's a good point you have dear lad...
...we love our country, don't we?
but how if we come to a thinking that the mindset of the civil also have a big role in this what so called fate of our country...because the mindset that produces discouragement to admit that we haven't dare to make a hard efforts for ourselves...like studying...in means of education my dear lad have said...how if we provide ourselves with proper education to ourselves...because i think informal education means a big cause to the development of our intelectuality...books for example, we will be able to access books in many libraries in each city...without spending much money...there is also "perpustakaan berjalan"....so many ways to Rome... keep the good fight sesco
kimi wa dare?
to be honest.. I don't really love this country.. don't ask me why
for me, informal education, home-schooling, and books are not enough to advance our intelligence and cleverness. reading books often is useless if there is no teacher explaining materials in the books
and a good teacher is not just a smart person. one who is able to transfer the knowledge is more preferable
those are only footnotes of Neo-Liberlism
the key is to destroy capitalism system and replace with a better one.
poverty is not a curse from god
It is not appropriate for us to only mock the worse condition of our country, especially related to poverty. If we do so, we are not going anywhere.
Education is unlimited. teachers, especially in formal institution of education, are only facilitator. all people are teachers and also students. if we integrate it to our mind, we will not be 'lack of knowledge' because there will be eagerness to try to find more and more in every accessible media.
I think, the problem in education is not merely 'the lack of education' as Sescoplo says, but in its whole system. as ian's short sentence bestows, the main problem is the intervention of capitalists to the education system, including the curriculum. well, it will be a long article to discuss this issue..
in short words, poverty in Indonesia, as in all Third World Countries, is the result of the success of 'the new rules in the world: Globalization'. the term is the euphemism of the power of transnational companies owned by several people. the capitalists has failed to fulfill their promises. to solve it is to change the whole system with, like ian says, the better one. we, all people who really care about it, are challenged.
capitalism? no
dear lads,
i also don't agree with capitalism idea in ruling the economic system as it is, nevertheless i think to destroy capitalism is not the answer; how we play with their (capitalist) game but to make it as our (country) benefit, because we already live in it; in our very eyes all are the products of capitalism, if i may say. destroying it is killing our own people....
why i mention about the mindset of our civil society, it is because, most of us, still glowed with 'consumerism culture' and then....as low can we go.....
now i haven't got an realistic idea to solve it but i will never put my hand on my lap with what had hapenned to our Indonesia.our beloved country.
the key
who has the key toward this problem?
capitalism
are you nationalist?
you love your country aren't you?
so don't keep silent!!!
we need your voice and support!!!
Act now or our nation will be History!!!
haha
I don't love my country.. to be honest
